Inauguration of the New Retreat Centre at the Mindrolling Monastery

The newly constructed retreat centre, Drubde Ösel Ling, was inaugurated at Mindrolling on the 2nd of December 2011 by their Eminences Khenchen Rinpoche and Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche.

The occasion was graced by the very Venerable Dhagpo Rinpoche and many tulkus, khenpos, monks and nuns of Mindrolling and representatives of Dhöndup Ling Tibetan Colony and many other guests.

This newly built retreat centre was built by the effort of Venerable Tulku Ugyen Chöphel and the many donors and disciples of Malaysia and Singapore. The retreat centre has 25 fully furnished retreat rooms, two shrinerooms, kitchen and staff quarters and all facilities needed for short and long term retreats.

At the inauguration, Venerable Tulku Ugyen Chöphel addressed the gathering and expressed his devotion and gratitude to Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen and the precious lineage of Mindrolling. He spoke of the importance of retreats and his delight at being able to accomplish his vision of building the retreat centre. He also thanked Venerable Gyurme Chöphel la and Lama Phuntsok Namgyal and all the managers of Mindrolling and constructions workers whose guidance and hard work made this project successful. He also read the names of all the kind donors whose contribution made it possible to build the new retreat centre which will allow more monks to practice in retreat.

Prayers of auspiciousness were recited and the first retreatants going into the new retreat centre were introduced. The entire gathered community rejoiced greatly on this occasion and made aspirations that many generations of wonderful practitioners are able to practice and accomplish the profound teachings here in this new Mindrolling retreat centre.
